A 1000 WORDS LETTER FOR A SPECIAL SOMEONE
Over the years, as we grow old, we remember our dad. You will give advices and understand. You’ll always be there, to lend a hand. God made fathers strong and firm, for he knew our lives would have great concerns. So he gave us fathers, to teach us to pray, and guide our lives, and show us the way. Fathers need not fathers be. All one needs to do is choose to love for life, and that embrace, held long and hard, bestows the grace each craves. For all in time must lose, restored alone by memory. So now it’s with you and me.
There in every memory, see your love and care. Strength and hands to count on, freely you do share. Provider, toil so faithfully to make our dreams come true. Give strong and tender discipline though it is hard to do. A father is God’s chosen one to lead the family and point it to his will for life of love and harmony. Fathers can be solitary mountains, all their love rock-like, steep and strong. Each of us needs love that knows no quarter, reminding us of bonds that cross a border, strengthening our sense of right and wrong.
The time we spent together is neither long nor short. After four years, we are going to be separated again. I don’t know where I can begin to even scratch the surface of the impact you have had on my life. Dad, you have always accepted me regardless of my shortcomings, in the midst of successes and my problems. I am in awe of your strength, your integrity, and your faith in me. You are my source of strength, especially during many conversations you and I have during pivotal points of life. And I pray that with all I am going through at this point in my life, I hope that I can somehow, someway come close to having your strength, your faith, your boldness and your wisdom to endure all.
By doing a flashback, every memory spent with you is tied up with a string. It got me sat down thinking. At times, I couldn’t help but will tend to tear a little. During my years in the big family, you are the guiding star of my life that held my finger and showed me the path of knowledge and life. At times when my life was like a candle in the wind, you put your hands around so that all the burns were your and all the light was mine. All these years, I have always admired you and respected you for being the most upright person I have known. We might not have had a lot of interaction but you have made a maximum impact on the way I think and react. Your principles have been the guiding force in my life. I hope I will follow them all my life.
You are selfless. Pouring unconditional love and blessing upon me. The kingdom of heaven abides in you. My heart rejoices listening to your voice. You are the reason for the dreams I see. I believe in myself because you believe in me. Year 2 of secondary school, seeking knowledge under your shelter was like drawing from an ever-widening pool of wisdom and joy. Indeed it is an art I learnt from you- to balance priorities in life and stand for what I believe in. I learnt the true meaning of freedom from you. Freedom, like you say is not what it looks like- it brings choices and many responsibilities. I cannot agree any more on it. I know I have been nurtured and when I turn around, I can feel your silent presence with me always.
Fireworks fizz all around, when you comes into my eyes. You make me laugh, with your smile. You are the flame in my life, and guided me through the world. One shoulder to cry on when I’m sad and someone to rely on when I’m bad. A special person who is as cuddly as a bear, a shining sun who looks out for me anytime, a flowing river that will never stop. My guardian angel in the sky, that flies above me all the time.
Four years have gone; I am leaving in a couple of month time. I am very sure I will miss you whole heartedly. I am still unsure of the answer whether am I returning but I really hope, in times to come, the little girl and daddy will be able to lie in the middle of parade square, having a heart to heart talk under the stars. I wish I will be able to return to school, to visit you more often.
I know myself that I will miss you a lot. Next time, whenever you look at the sky at night, you will see that there are no more stars. The reason is that whenever I miss you, a star will fall from the sky. I believe that I will miss you so much till there is no more star and soon, not even the moon will be up there.
I would like to thank you. Continue being the light in a gloomy room, the inspiration in my life and the music in my year. Dad, I love you.
With Loves,
HongYing.
